Mick Moss of Antimatter: Music, Dreams, and the Art of Transformation
For years, Antimatter has been stirring souls with its dark melodies and deeply emotional lyrics. Personally, Mick Moss’s music resonated with me on a profound level at a certain point in my life, making this conversation all the more special.
Heres a secret – I hardly ever listen to my own albums once they’re released!
At Surge Türkiye, I had a deep and heartfelt conversation with Mick Moss of Antimatter about the transformative power of music, his artistic evolution, and how dreams and intuition shape his songwriting. We also delved into the Parallel Matter album, his future projects, and his strong connection with his Turkish audience.
How do things like dreams, intuition, or even subconscious thoughts find their way into your music? Have you ever woken up and thought, “That’s a song right there”?
Mick Moss: I’ve dreamt a few songs over the years but I’ve only ever successfully managed to pull one out of my dream and get it down on tape, and that’s Killer from The Judas Table. Every other song that appeared to me in a dream has dissolved once I woke up. But for some reason Killer stayed with me long enough. I ran into the bathroom with my phone and grabbed my acoustic guitar and recorded it before it disappeared. It was all there, pretty much the whole song with a good chunk of the lyrics too. It’s fascinating that the brain can do that.
And the best part? Antimatter is coming to Turkey soon for two unforgettable shows!
